A quick write is when you are given a prompt and then write for 4 minutes without stopping. (Later in the year we’ll increase the writing time.) Although quick writes are intended to help you become a more fluent writer and get your ideas on paper quickly, you still need to pay attention to spelling, punctuation and capital letters. You should edit your quick write for spelling using your Priority Words list. Here are a few websites that have some great ideas to use as writing prompts. Happy Writing!
