  1. Nya has to walk around bare foot because she has no shoes. I CHOOSE not to ware shoes. That is what we have I common. What we don’t have in common is that she has this pain in her life that won’t go away. I on the other hand don’t.

  2. I chose Salva to compare and contrast with.
Salva has a hard life with limited resources, I have resources and water and life is not as hard as Salva’s.
Salva wants to be with his family and I also want to be with my family.

  3. I can compare and contrast to Salva. salva only has so much, but we have so much. I feel bad for Salva.

  4. I think that Nya and me are different because I can go to a my refrigerator and get water and Nya has to go to the river and get water. We are the same because
we both love are families a lot.

  5. I choose Salva to compare and contrast with.

Salva has a hard life because at the age of 11 he had to run for his life with no food, water, family or friends. He was alone. He only noticed a few tribe members. If I was alone with no food, water, family or friends and only noticed a few people I would be scared and nervous.

What we do have in common is that Salva loved his family and missed them too. If I was in Salva’s position, I would feel the same too.

  6. I choose Salva because she has a hard life and got separated with her family and she probably is scared and nervous not knowing were her family is. I am kind of like this because if I got separated from my family I would feel the same way scared and nervous. I have got lost in a store before feeling nervous and feeling like I would never find my family.

  7. I chose Salva

Unlike Salva I have more safety. He has less communication than I do. I want to stay with family to. I would be scared to.

  8. I chose Nya to compare and contrast to my life.
I can tell that she has a very hard life compared to mine, because she and other girls have to get water again and again for eight hours every day! When I get water I don’t have to walk that long. It only takes about 30 seconds to get my water.
Nya wants to have more time with her family, I always like to be with my family also!

  9. Salva and I are are alike in that we both love our families and would do anything for them. I am different from Salva in that I have a pretty easy life. I live in a safe town and don’t have to cross 3 countries to be safe. I drink clean water and I eat good food. He has a pretty hard life. I am lucky.

  10. I chose Salva because when she’s at school she’s thinking about home.
Sometimes I get distracted in school from remembering things at home. Salva moved to a new village. I’ve never moved in my life.

  11. What I have in common with Salva and Nya is that I have hard times too, like when Nya has to walk 8 hours each day that’s hard, I sure wouldn’t want to do that! And Salva when he was at school and those people were trying to take over their country, that that is really hard to leave your home, family, friends and belongings. The hard times I have are my mom and dad being apart. The difference between me and Salva is that nobody is taking over my home my room or my belongings. And Nya the difference me and her is that I don’t half to walk 8 hours each day twice, I am glad that I don’t half to do that. It is really sad that people would even bother to take over Salva’s country or home, but I am glad that’s not happening to our lives. And I hope that would never happen, and I bet it won’t.

  13. I chose Salva to compare and contrast with.
Slava doesn’t have many things to work with, but on the other hand with me i have plenty things. Like water, food, and most importantly, family. And i’m thankful for that.
Salva wants to have food, water, and family. I also want that stuff. So we kind of want the same stuff, but don’t have the same stuff.

  14. I chose Salva’s life to compare and contrast to mine. Salva’s life is way harder than mine in ways that I wouldn’t be able to bare. Like the way he had to walk three countries, just WOW! My life is filled with adventure and fun, but walking three countries, I would never be able to do. The thing we have in common is that we love our families, and our families love us.

  15. I forgot my class book at school so I read Sting by Jude Watson. In this book they are trying to find a briefcase with all the diamonds.

  16. Salva has a hard life dealing with no water and resources to help himself through this crazy adventure that he is going through. Salva wants to be with his family but he needs to find water for his family. Salva and I are different in that he doesn’t have the resources that I have. We are alike because Salva and I love our family.

  17. Salva has a life of a born tryer and the back story of death but some how he escaped death.
