Salt Dough

The students will be making clay relief maps of the state of Oregon. Each student needs one batch of salt and flour clay in a large, securely closed Ziploc baggie for the project.

If you are willing- could you make an “extra” batch to send in and share around? Some of the mountain ranges require a lot of dough! Thank you!!

Salt and Flour Clay

2 cups flour

1 cup salt

2 tablespoons cooking oil

3/4 cup of water

Mix the flour and salt together in a bowl. Add oil to the water. Pour the water mixture slowly into the flour mixture, kneading with your hands until it becomes soft and doughy. Add more water or flour as necessary to make it a consistency that is pliable, but not too wet or dry to work with as clay. Put in a Ziploc bag, write your child’s name on it and bring it to school on Friday!
