I am a native Oregonian, and was born and raised in McMinnville. I graduated from Linfield College (go Wildcats!) with a degree in PE and Health, and then earned my classroom endorsement and Master’s Degree in Education from Western Oregon.
This is my 33rd year of teaching, which still just doesn’t sound quite right! I taught PE for 16 years (10 here at Willamette), and taught Kindergarten for one year after moving into the classroom. After that, it was six years of 1st grade, then seven years of 2nd grade, with a year of third grade thrown in the mix. This is my second year back in first grade. What I have enjoyed the most in my career are the relationships formed with my students and their families. What keeps me inspired? Each child that enters my classroom door.
My children are grown, and the grandchildren are growing up all too quickly. I feel fortunate to have them all close by. I enjoy going to all their ball games and dance recitals!
In my free time I enjoy reading and long walks with my dog, Chloe. I go to concerts, sporting events, and enjoy discovering new Portland area eateries. I love traveling and my favorite trip was when I went to Italy!
